Cut & Cured Co. FAQ

About Our Products

What is Biltong?

Biltong is a traditional South African cured meat snack, air-dried and seasoned with natural spices and vinegar. Unlike jerky, it’s never cooked or smoked, preserving its rich flavor and nutrient density.

What makes your products different?

We use organic, grass-fed, and grass-finished beef, free of hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs. Our products are handcrafted in small batches, sugar-free, gluten-free, and made with simple, natural ingredients.

How is Biltong different from jerky?

Biltong is air-dried instead of heat-dried and contains no sugar, preservatives, or smoke. It has a softer texture and retains more nutrients.

Why is there more protein in Biltong than jerky?

Since Biltong is made without artificially flavored syrups and contains less water, there is more meat per ounce, resulting in higher protein content—nearly 50% more than jerky.

Do you offer other products?

Yes! In addition to Biltong, we offer Chili Bites, beef sticks (Droëwors), and rendered beef tallow. Chili Bites are a spicier version of our traditional Biltong, perfect for those who love a little heat. Our beef sticks are a delicious grab-and-go snack, and our tallow is ideal for cooking or skincare.

Do your products have to be refrigerated or frozen?

If unopened, our products remain fresh without refrigeration. Once opened, store them in the refrigerator and consume within three days. We don’t recommend freezing Biltong as it may affect texture and flavor.

What’s the small white packet in my Biltong bag?

The small packet labeled “Do Not Eat” is an FDA-approved oxygen absorber that helps preserve freshness.

What does the “best by date” mean?

This date guarantees the product’s freshness. We don’t recommend consuming products beyond this date or more than three days after opening.

About Our Beef

Where is your beef raised, and how is it raised?

Our beef is pasture-raised, grass-fed, and grass-finished. It is sourced from American farms and is never treated with hormones, antibiotics, or GMOs.

Where is Cut & Cured Biltong made?

We proudly produce our Biltong in small batches in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA.

Sustainability

Are your products zero-waste?

Yes, we’re committed to sustainability. For example, we use beef fat to create our golden tallow, which can be used for cooking or skincare.
